This is my first project. So I have put my heart and knowledge on it. I started on February 28 2025 to model this character:

I grew up with these titles in mind... and always thought why doesnt anyone make a game like this? A mix of these and that... voila - here's a combat game you'll enjoy.

• Ragnarok Online (My #1 Favorite - 3 hands down)

• Soldat (Spent many nights in this shooter)

• Worms (oh my early days since worms 1)

• Metal Warriors (I don't remember people talking about it - the VS mode was interesting. Definitely modelling ideas from here)

So that's it! I have more but these are in my game. It's a 3D world in a 2D person shooter with jet, flips, guns, explosives, magic spells... in a futuristic post apocalyptic universe.

My GameDev Story

I decided to drop my activities and dedicate 100% to make videogames. Because that's what I've been doing since 8 years old. Now I'm 38 and I've been taking classes, skills and everything required to make a game - but never applied them to videogames.

I learned computer science about math logic but it had more accountability and no videogame design in that career... then I studied cinematography digital arts, where I learned a lot about cameras and lighting, story writing and how to record/edit videos.

Didnt want to work for ad agencies. So I moved on to Digital Arts where I found a natural skill to model in 3D - I say it's like playing with clays. Also, the adobe suit.

So everything you see in this game is made by me. EVERYTHING.

I only used AI to brainstorm ideas. As an assistant. Apart from that, it's photoshop, maya, my creativity and LOTS of hours trying to turn ideas into behaviors.

I knew nothing about c#... My first month I spent using tools that are made for you - i quickly saw a close ceiling by using these... so I decided to learn coding.... and failed!

I can't concentrate on C# because it's 100% words.

I have Asperger Syndrome and I prefer visual information. Not just top to bottom direction with characters and symbols. So I had a rought moment trying to do something using C# and many tutorials online... 

That's when I found Unity Visual Script - and everything changed. My game is made 100% with that. So I consider myself a Coding Artist because I draw programs. :)

And that's it - enough about me. Let's talk about this game!

🎮Game Features, Skills & Ideas

=========================

We will have 3 classes. Alien Wizards, Warriors and Healers.

They all carry secondary weapons. and a unique Class-weapon.  While healers support others, warriors stay upfront and the wizard obliterates the enemies. 

I expect the game levels to be a mix between Soldat & Super Smash Bros scenes where you die & respawn. Every kill adds points, and deaths deducts. Also, there's bonus points for other goals (Like headshots, teamplay, flag scoring, etc)


The fast-action 5-minute game modes:

• Versus (best score wins). Both free for all or team battle. 

• Capture The Flag. Each team got a base. They can defend or go get the flag at the enemy base. 

• Invaders. One team defends the base, the other invades and have to destroy the Black Matter Generator. The source of magic - if it's destroy, team loses.


🧙 [ Alien Wizard ] Spells:

🌌 Space Elemental:

• Time Control - Bubble zone slows and stop, bullets too. Enemies cant see bubble. Team can.

✓ Black Hole - attracts enemies into the center. explodes at the end and pushing outward (bullets too)

❄️Ice Elemental:

• Frozen Orb - Projectile that explodes. Chills.

• Ice Wall - Blocks path - bounce bullets back.

✓ Blizzard - Multi hit. Slows down. Chance to freeze - Lighting zaps 2x

🔥 Fire Elemental:

• Fire Ball - Projectile Explodes + Detonates + Fire Chance 

• Fire Pillar - Mine or Instant. Push back + fire chance. 

✓ Meteor - insta kill direct hit. fire chance, firewalls (stronger against flesh)

⚡Lighting Elemental:

• Slow Bolt - Seeking ball from above that suddenly zaps into the target and explodes

• Chain Lighting - bounces, electrifies: cant attack - sometimes disarm (stronger vs machina/shield)

• Thunder Storm - Cloud that moves and chases. Electrifies chance.

• Thunder Hydra - Shoot bolts horizontally

• Revive (during 10 seconds after dying)

Space Aliens Story

In the year 2773, the Machinas took over the world. Since mankind created AI they somehow figured out how to install consciousness into themselves and everything changed...

Now they dominate the planet Earth, creating more of them and taking hostage of humans. They are creating souls and energy from their bodies to install into their new "born" self-made Machinas.

...and when it seem like the end of the human civilization, the Space Aliens came to help us.

They came to Earth to eradicate this dangerous species from the universe. But it was too late. The Machinas knew they were coming so they took off from Earth and started a space civilization in other planets and parts of the Galaxy.

Many humans turned their face away from their race and joined forces with the Machinas. Helping them harvest other humans  in laboratories where they continue to innovate new Machinas.

Are you willing to help the Space Aliens save the universe from the Machinas?

(oh. and also save mankind if you want :P)

This is a very ambitious project. I'm definitely NOT at the level to make it happen but that doesn't stop me. I consider myself smart so I keep going. And even if I scratch my head some days (usually a bug that won't get fixed...) I'll make this game come true.

It's a fun project. And I believe people can get entertained with it. I'll look to publish kickstarter campaigns to hire professionals and make it better. I don't want to work alone - and so far I can't complain as I have 100% control over what's added.

And yet - having a team is better. Other points of views. Less work load. And faster production. And who knows... share profits sounds like a good idea too :)

I miss games from the old times.

Today most games are automatic. Full of visuals, big numbers you can't read and epilectic flashes. None of that actually makes a game. Don't believe me? You shouldn't.

Just look at games like Space Invaders. Epic. Most sold game ever. Did it have special effects and realistic graphics? Nope. It had a brilliant idea and an addictive gameplay. 

That's it. That's what I call the "Addictive Factor"

It's when you want to be better every new attempt. And you cross the limit multiple times. And the experience is shared with others - whether it's a leaderboard or multiplayer.

I dream that this game will become a multiplayer... maybe for Space Aliens 2.

I liked the amount of damage feedback and critical strike feedback. Its very responsive!  The first gun takes too long to charge up so the response time feels delayed as everything else is very fast paced. Maybe start the player with a quicker faster shooting/reloading gun to match the fast pace. I like the variations of abilities and such and i like the potential to be able to take the game in a number of directions. For example you could take it into a more Brawlhalla style game! Or even you could make it a linear RPG with the main character. Also just more polish overall to clean out some bugs.

You dont start with ultragun... Its just that it was the latest gun i added. Not sure if letting all weapons available at the beginning or make them drops / findables. 

Yeah damage output was inspired on Ragnarok Online i like it too!

Never played brawhalla.. maybe i should. I was also thinking about RPG elements like level up... Like in league of legends. Start every battle with lv 1 and as you do things - you gain exp and be OP near end of game round (5 minutes). Still not sure what to do with coins hehe game very deep under development.

Btw I haven't uploaded the latest update where you have melee sword. It spins in the air and any melee attack can reflect bullets 😁

So i realised i was playing the HTML version and was a bit laggy liek you said. Maybe you want to take that down? The downloaded version i couldnt use the magic abiliies with the F1 F2 F3 keys. It came up with error in red.  "variable not found 'isalive' "specific method not supported".  Once I just stayed dead and wasnt able to respawn. The downloaded version of course starts with a fast gun and feels a lot better. I personally would like to be able to shoot backwards(while aiming behind and walking forward). Didnt feel nice to have to turn back around to shoot, but it might be a style you are going for. Graphics are good, combat is good. I mean polish as in like more stuff like more enemies, level, more of a sense of progression, a goal perhaps? Menu and ingame tutorial etc. 

Oh yeah all those are coming - but now im focusing in the player's abilities. You can see full updates and upcoming stuff in the discord. I just added enemy with grenade throw and launching a sticky turret (and also rolls away from danger). 

I have lots of things coming to this game - the actual gameplay is not done. First - the characters. Right now im designing the "Warping Hook" - think of spiderman way of moving around the city with it's web. 

Anyways, yeah I dont fancy web version as it cant unlock the full potential. Might remove it but some people dont want to download an executable... which is weird... itch should enable it... or maybe make web version a "demo". just to move around, and to play the full thing - download. who knows.

Hmm about that bug - that's weird. I kind of fixed it - but please try this and let me know if it works: 

• press TAB and then click Player - there you can move spells from one skill slot to another. Assign at least once on each spell slot in your hotkey bar. Close game, and retry. See if it's fixed.

I had a bug where default "saved" values didn't exist so it gives that error when first using skills - it was supposed to be fixed but it may not entirely be? Your test would confirm it and then i'll look further into it.

Yeah thanks to your feedback I reordedred the layout of weapons. from basic to advanced (not really worse to better, just different mechanics). These weapons needs balance but that's for later on.

P.D. yeah I kind of intend to stick to retro games where you shoot forward. if you need close combat - use X to sheathe your sword. Go take distance, roll away, turn around and shoot. It's going to be very dynamic. Aiming where mouse is kind of just turns the game in a dead brain shooter (aim shoot win combo) - but that may be just my opinion... :P
